There are a few different enrollment methods made available to you using Mosyle Business, and each of them has different factors and requirements which can affect your choice, according to your specific Apple deployment. Find information about each type of Enrollment method available below.
Enrolling using Automated Device Enrollment
For devices that are purchased directly from Apple, this is the easiest way to enroll. You can automatically enroll and supervise devices this way after completing the integration between Apple Business Manager and your Mosyle account. You can enjoy all the benefits of the zero-touch deployment available on Automated Device Enrollment, and we highly recommend you proceed with this method.
Enrolling using Manual Enrollment
This method requires using an Enrollment URL but does not require a wipe of your Apple devices. Keep in mind that this enrollment method allows your end-users to manually remove the MDM management profile and it will not supervise the iOS or iPadOS devices. This enrollment method is recommended if your company doesn’t need to apply restrictions available only for devices in supervised mode or for small deployments.
Enrollment using Apple Configurator 2
You can enroll your devices using Apple Configurator 2 (AC2) if they are running iOS, iPadOS or tvOS. AC2 is a free app available on Mac computers, which gives you the ability to supervise and enroll devices along with the Mosyle Business MDM. This method is great if your devices were donated.
User Enrollment is a new enrollment method designed for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs and gives IT the ability to manage a limited set of configurations and policies that help ensure end-user and device safety. These configurations and policies are associated with an end-user instead of the entire device, which helps secure personal data.
